Crisis Training and Response
for Hilton Worldwide Asia Pacific
In 2009, we started a programme of crisis communications training for General Managers and PR staff of all Hilton Worldwide hotels and resorts across Asia Pacific. This included “PR 101” professional skills training for in-house PR managers, many of whom had not worked internationally and were not aware of “best practice” in their discipline. Training workshops were conducted in Australia, China, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Thailand – often for up to 40 people in each session. We also developed communication strategy after the Hilton Chongqing was closed indefinitely following allegations of criminal activity by the owner. Other activations included supporting the Hilton Singapore after the death of a guest on his wedding night, followed by the suicide of his widow six months later.
